#26 - Blanket

Barry was feeling the exhaustion right down into his bones. Lying on his stomach on Felicity’s bed, his Flash suit strewn haphazardly on the floor nearby. He could hear her in the bathroom, but he was barely awake.

She came to bed just as his eyes were closing, and tenderly pulled the blanket up over him. She was quiet and gentle crawling in beside him, careful not wake him when she tucked the edges in around him. The last thing he was aware of before sleep fully claimed him was a soft kiss to his forehead.

Finally, he could relax.

#21 - Grief

Barry never stopped grieving for his mom. Not a day went by that she wasn’t on his mind. For many years, he’d been determined to get justice for her murder. After that long full of heartache, he never would have anticipated that justice wasn’t what she needed to rest peacefully.

All she needed was what every loving mother to walk the earth wished… that her child was okay, he was safe, that he was a good person. He could give her a glimpse of that, and held her hand while she took her last breath. They found their peace together.
